In a very practical way, this workshop presents the main characteristics of the Scottish curriculum proposed by Learning Connections. These specificities aim at putting the learner at the heart of the training process and at improving the quality of the literacy training mechanisms. It is intended for trainers as well as for persons in charge of literacy agencies in order to stimulate ideas and help improve their reception schemes.
Such terms of reference focus on social practices. Indeed, they are characterized by a constructivist approach according to which the acquisition of sustainable knowledge is further developed when the social field is taken into account. Whether to present the theoretical principles of the curriculum or to understand how to set up a learning programme via the Learning Wheel, participants in this workshop were constantly stimulated through a series of group activities.
